How to clear cookies without logging out
Use a whitelist. Cookies are both what trackers rely on and what keeps you signed in, so the only way to clear one without losing the other is to exclude specific domains. ClearKit does exactly that with the browser's own exclusion mechanism: whitelisted sites are skipped, everything else is wiped.
Doing it manually in Chrome
- 1Open Chrome Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies.
- 2Scroll to "Allowed to use third-party cookies" and add each site you want to keep.
- 3Turn on "Delete cookies and site data when you close all windows".
- 4Close every Chrome window so the cleanup can happen.
Where the manual way falls short
- The exception list only applies to the on-exit cleanup, not to a manual Delete browsing data — one click there and your exceptions are ignored.
- Nothing protects cache or site data, and there is still no way to clean on demand without logging out.
Doing it with ClearKit
- 1Open ClearKit's settings and add your everyday domains to the whitelist.
- 2Clean whenever you like — those domains' cookies, cache and site data are skipped every single time.
- 3Need the opposite? Switch to reverse mode and clear only the domains you list.
Free, offline and no account needed — and because the whitelist protects your sessions, you can do this as often as you like.
